The Spirit of Gernas Mulia 2026: Trisakti University Faculty of Economics and Business Students Learn the Role of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) in the Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering (TPPU).

Jakarta – Students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Trisakti University conducted an educational visit to the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The visit aimed to provide students with practical insights, particularly regarding money laundering (TPPU), terrorism financing (TPPT), and the role of PPATK.
The event began with remarks from the Head of the PPATK Empowerment and Partnership Center, Supriadi. In his remarks, he expressed his appreciation for the visit by Trisakti University students, demonstrating their commitment to the prevention and eradication of TPPU and TFPT. “Through this activity, we hope students can improve their understanding of the PPATK’s role, legal and financial literacy, and build a culture of integrity and transparency for the future,” Supriadi emphasized in his remarks.
The Head of the Department of Economics, Dr. Agustina Suparyati, explained that visits to agencies and institutions are an annual event, and this time, PPATK was the designated institution to understand TPPU practices and how to prevent them. “Through this activity, students not only gain theoretical knowledge but also a practical overview of the real challenges faced in preventing and eradicating money laundering (TPPU) and money laundering (TFPT),” he said.
The activity continued with a sharing session delivered by Ilham Wahyu Firmansyah, a speaker from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK). In his presentation, he explained that money laundering practices can distort the economic circulation and impact various sectors, including declining tax revenues and making it difficult for authorities to monitor the amount of money in circulation. “Money laundering has three stages: placement, layering, and integration. PPATK’s role as a financial intelligence agency is also emphasized, tasked with receiving financial transaction reports, conducting analysis, and forwarding the results to law enforcement,” Ilham explained in his opening remarks.
Participants were also encouraged to raise awareness of their environment and family, maintain the confidentiality of financial data, and be wary of offers of instant returns that could potentially be part of TPPU. The activity concluded with a visit to the PPATK’s Tanoh Abee Library.
Through this educational activity, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) instills the spirit of the PPATK’s Noble National Movement in preventing and eradicating money laundering as part of national defense efforts. Education for the younger generation is considered crucial to building collective awareness that money laundering and terrorism financing practices are not only violations of the law but also threats to economic stability, the integrity of the financial system, and the future of the nation.
The involvement of students in understanding the dangers of money laundering and terrorism is expected to produce a generation with integrity, critical views of various financial crime modes, and the courage to reject illegal practices in their communities. This spirit of national defense is manifested through awareness, financial literacy, and active public participation in maintaining the national financial system so that it remains clean, transparent, and free from misuse for criminal purposes.
